I am a 19 year old fashion student living in Carol Stream, a moderately sized town in Dupage County, Northwestern Illinois. I was born at the Dupage Hospital in 1989, and grew up in its northwest/north suburbs. I attended Glenbard North High School, it was there that I graduated, and coincidentally met the person who sparked my interest in what this site is about: cosplay.

What is Cosplay? “Cosplay, a contraction of the English words ‘costume’ and ‘play’, is a Japanese subculture centered on dressing as characters from manga, anime, and video games, and, less commonly, Japanese live action television shows, fantasy movies, or Japanese pop music bands. That in itself explains what cosplay means, but let me add that Cosplay has now become a world-wide hobby, and it is not restricted to merely a Japanese subculture.
